I’ve seen it written and heard it said a million times – I’m going to start blogging more. I’ve promised myself over and over and still never started. I can’t pinpoint if the lack of blogging was because of lack of material, insufficient time, fear of rejection or a combination of all of them. Truth is – I have plenty of material, I have plenty of time (instead of Facebook surfing or playing endless hours of Pokemon Go – yes, I play that!), and I’m one of those people that doesn’t put value in other’s opinion of me. So – no excuses – I am going to start blogging more.
If you don’t know me, you’re about to! You’ll find I share more than I should, discuss things that others are scared to, and I’m 100% honest, even if it hurts. It’s just who I am.
So, for my first personal blog post, I’d like to introduce myself. Hi, I’m Jacqui. I’m 29 years young and married to my high school sweetheart. We don’t have kids, don’t want kids, and we are perfectly content spoiling the crap out of our 65lb lab mix, Delilah. We also have nieces and nephews that keep us busy and act as a natural form of birth control LMAO!
We live in Mulberry and were both raised in Lakeland, FL. Our lives couldn’t have been more opposite and somehow we found common ground. Personality wise, we are total opposite: he’s an introvert, I’m an extrovert – he is a loner, I’m a social butterfly – he saves money, I spend it. You get the point 😉 But even with all the differences, I know he was made for me and I for him. February 2017 will be 9 years married, 15 years together. I still get butterflies sometimes when we hold hands or he walks into a room. It’s a wonderful life.
Aside from photography, I work at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. It’s quite an interesting job. I worked as a 911 operator for 2 years and now I am a Crime Information Specialist. When people ask what that is – I tell them I’m kinda like Penelope Garcia on Criminal Minds It’s challenging and rewarding and the schedule works perfectly with my personal/business life.
I’m a child at heart and Brian lets me indulge in my childish obsessions from time to time. We play Super Mario Bros, UNO, and chase each other around the house. We spend A LOT of time in our living room, watching The Office, Family Guy, and an occasional Disney or 90’s movie. I go to Disney regularly – happiest place on earth for real! – and we have Busch Gardens passes. When it comes to movie time, I always want to watch a comedy. We love to kayak, take hikes, and go tubing or rent a pontoon boat with friends. It’s always so peaceful on the river. Sometimes, I’ll pull my phone out of the dry box and play Bobby McFerrin’s “Freedom is a Voice” while I paddle under a canapy of tree branches and little leaks of sunshine with my husband and father ahead of me. It’s like my own little slice of heaven. We also travel as much as possible. If it were up to me, I’d just live on the road!
So, hopefully that gives you a little idea of who I am. I’m excited to share more with you in the future. Stay tuned!
Kim and Alex have known for quite sometime that they were “meant to be”. They’ve been through thick and thin together long before they were engaged. They share a love for sports and their rescue dog, Luke. He helped Alex propose and it was the cutest thing ever! Their wedding day was nothing short of perfect. I was so happy that Kim opted for a first look with her father. Kim and her father have the kind of relationship that all young girls dream of. He holds onto her hand like she’s still the little princess she was 20 years ago. Watching him see her for the first time in her wedding dress, giving her away, and dancing with her was enough to make a grown man cry! To say we had a blast is a serious understatement. Enjoy my favorites from the day!

Ashley and Bart had a Beauty and the Beast themed reception that was incorporated with amazing dueling pianists that made every music lovers dreams come true. The favors were a hand picked wedding playlist on a CD made to look like a record. It was a blast photographing their wedding at Streamsong Resort in Fort Meade.
